Their stories are woven into the very foundation of our company’s success in providing network infrastructure, data center solutions, and IT services across Canada. These individuals have helped shape CaTECH into the trusted national brand it is today, and we’re proud to share a glimpse of their incredible journeys.
Derrick Squib – Champion of Connection and Collaboration
“Hard to believe. It’s been 20 years since I began this journey with the CaTECH team.” Derrick joined CaTECH drawn by the people—and it’s the people who kept him here. From working on challenging IT infrastructure projects with the Toronto team to visiting every branch across Canada, Derrick has built strong relationships and contributed significantly to our national presence.
With key contributions to enterprise network upgrades and managed IT service delivery, Derrick played a critical role in managing major accounts and strengthening customer relationships. “It’s been a pleasure to service and grow our best customers and help build our company to what it is today,” he reflects.
Fortunato Canlas: A Leap of Faith
Arriving in Canada in 2005, Fortunato’s CaTECH story began with a recommendation from a friend and quickly escalated into a key role on the Rogers Downtown Head Office backbone infrastructure upgrade.
He credits early mentors like Nick, Linval, and Derrick for shaping his path from technician to project lead. “Derrick Squibb took me under his wing and provided invaluable mentorship,” says Fortunato. Today, he remains a cornerstone of our structured cabling and network deployment projects, balancing technical excellence with a deep sense of gratitude.
Colin Richardson: From 15-Year-Old Helper to Project Manager
Colin’s CaTECH journey began at just 15, helping move office furniture to the new head office. Years later, after college and co-op experience with the company, he officially joined the field team as his brother Steve’s helper. What followed was a hands-on career, from data centre cabling to his current role as Project Manager.
Over the years, Colin has embodied CaTECH’s values of learning, teamwork, and growth. “We’d terminate cables all morning and whoever had the most fails would buy lunch,” he laughs. Now a seasoned leader, Colin thanks his mentors and teammates for helping him evolve with the business.
Dan Bossin: A Reflection on Growth and Gratitude
“Wow, 20 years!” That’s how Dan sums up his tenure, and it’s clear the time has been filled with meaningful experiences. As a key part of our technology integration and IT services delivery, Dan is grateful for the challenges that shaped him—and for being part of a team that supports personal and professional development.
