Employee Spotlight #1: Bill Mollard: A Veteran of Innovation
With around 30 years under his belt, Bill Mollard has witnessed CaTECH evolve from a small operation to one of North America’s largest network infrastructure providers. His unwavering dedication to innovation has consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible, keeping CaTECH at the cutting edge of technology.
Here’s what Bill has to say about his CaTECH journey.
Friday, April 14th 1995 at 30 years of age dressed in a suit I walked into the world of CaTECH Systems on Granton Dr. Markham. Immediate buzz in the office was that they are hiring a salesman to compliment their growing business. I was however not that guy but a hands on graduate in electronic engineering.
Meeting Scott Forrestall and his right hand man at the time Scott Ginther they put me through a good cop bad cop interview seeing if I would fit in. Can you start Monday…Employee #11.
Monday morning 3 or 4 hand written service calls were fanned out, held by Scott F, to a diverse group of young techs, go ahead pick one and get moving “Chop Chop”.
We had 1 and only 1 service vehicle “Hot Wheels” a Mazda B2000 that was loaded up and doing rounds to drop material to the few locations we had work. What a team Scott had created, work hard/play hard, always together. 30 years later I still spend time with some of these guys regularly.
As times change CaTECH has grown with the technology and been innovative but the soul of CaTECH remains. 24 years of work in the field and 6 years in the office have provided me a satisfying career and am appreciative to the CaTECH family.

As I reflect on my journey at CaTECH Systems over the past 30 years, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. As a key player in many of our most significant projects, Benjamin Ramirez’s leadership and experience have been invaluable. His commitment to excellence has contributed to the long-standing client relationships that are at the heart of CaTECH’s success.
Here’s a small message by Benjamin on his journey and contributions:
Boy oh boy…A full hair head and hardly any extra pounds…But we have been all a big family. Traditions that have carried on until today. I went on an adventure with exited home and even to Bolivia for a few years… just to come back welcomed and loved as before! It looks like the barbecue has always been at the center of celebrations and laughter.
We all were wearing work clothes and ID cards. And the good old pagers on a lanyard. We really had time to talk and nobody was buried into their cells.
Thank you Scott and Cathy for keeping up in these tough times with the same support and family sense. Big Family!
